In this class we discussed the role of ICT as social constructive mind tools
In my point of view, I think it is the main role of ICT.
When student participate in learning process by using critical thinking skills to analysis the problem they construct their own understanding of a topic or problem.
Today students like to live in social life more than anything else. So using ICT as social constructive mind tools will be a great benefit for everybody.
we discussed also several kinds of ICT social tools:
1- Formal discussion like the blackboard >> I was using it in my bachelor study in UAEU. most of the courses was depending on it. It was a great service and facility that the university provides us with it.
2- Collaborative discussion like the Wiki >> I was using the wikipedia in referencing some information but the teacher was not accept it as a good resource. Because it depends on information from the visitors of the website not from official ones.
3- Informal discussion like Facebook >>
I have an account that I used it just for one month J !!! Because I do not have a time for it. But really it was nice to participate in that community.

Especially if we used it in learning for the student. I think we should let them used it under strict conservation
